At siHi Image Is Everything

EILEEN MCNEESE

The Full Length Mirror

I attended stepping into His image in the Fall of 2016.  At the completion of my siHi journey, I came to realize a few things about myself.  For many years I had avoided having my picture taken and steered clear of looking at myself in a mirror.  This wasn’t even a conscious decision; it was just how I lived. Attending siHi unknowingly unlocked a door within me that I didn’t even realize was there.

siHi reminded me that I am a child of God and He loves me just as I am.  That is not to say that I don’t continue to struggle with body image, because I do.  I am female after all, but my home is now decorated with mirrors in every room, including a full length mirror in the dining area.  I also now love to be in photos.

But I have learned to be honest with myself and I try to not appear the way I think people would want me to look in a picture.  It is now rare for me to have a photo taken where I am not smiling! I also felt God strongly telling me to move on with my life and proceed with my divorce after having been separated for 6 years.  Life is a joyous occasion and siHi has been a positive step in this realization.”
